  • What's in a domain name?

Written by iisbum on June 26th, 2007 at 09:27 pm

Interesting article from MarketWatch, about the struggles that startups are having finding good domain names.

"Nowadays, these start-ups are built on the cheap, employing shoestring budgets by leasing inexpensive computer servers and using low-cost software. The last thing they want to spend big money on is a name. A Web identity is imperative, but these firms don't have tens of thousands of dollars to hire a naming specialist, to say nothing of the cost of acquiring a cybersquatted domain."

  • Update

Written by iisbum on February 18th, 2007 at 04:55 pm

Domain count limit raised and RSS feed for your domains is now available.

The RSS feed must be activated on your account, which provides you a unique URL for your data. You should not share this URL with anyone else or they will be able to access your domain information. Also be careful when adding the feed to a web based reader, as other users may have access to your feed list.

The number of domains you are allowed to track has now been raised to 100, enjoy!

  • Missing Tags

Written by iisbum on February 3rd, 2007 at 09:01 pm

We apologize for the unexpected deletion of the tags you added to the your domains, which was due to a database problem.

The database backups we had in place weren't running a often as we'd have liked.

We are working to put a better backup solution in place to reduce the impact of database problems in the future.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this problem.
